Aluminium Bronze

Aluminium bronze is a type of bronze alloy that contains aluminum as a significant alloying element, along with copper. The addition of aluminum to the bronze alloy enhances its strength, corrosion resistance, and other mechanical properties. The aluminum content in aluminum bronze typically ranges from about 5% to 11%, although specific compositions may vary.

 

The alloying elements contribute to the overall performance and characteristics of the material, which also include wear resistance, thermal conductivity and non-sparking properties. Common applications of aluminum bronze include bearings, bushings, gears, marine equipment, valve components, and other parts in the marine sector, oil and petrochemical industries where corrosion resistance and high strength are essential.
